Selecting the parameters of the PID controller The classical regulator, sometimes referred to as a proportional integral differential regulator (PID controller), is used in the feedback circuit of automatic control systems to generate the value of the control parameter according to the available deviation characteristics. Usually, the controller generates the value of the control parameter as the sum of three terms, the first of which is proportional to the deviation, the second to the integral of the deviation, the third to the derivative of the deviation.
